Family. Gals and guys who are my friends. Reformed University Fellowship. Nursing School. Sunday mornings.
SMALLISH things:
Imperfect fluency in German. Schemes to learn Arabic. Good books. The chilly warmth of Spring. Acoustic guitars. Learning how to cook. Long, long runs. Giving people presents.

Hi, I enjoyed your blog very much. I have family living in Hunxe. My son Mike who is from Georgia and his wife Ute and Christina and Justin. They live at Schwarzensteiner Weg 27. Hallo liebe Lydia!
Ich hab’ diese Adresse gefunden, und habe mich so gefreut, ueber deine bisherigen Erfahrungen zu lesen. Es hoert sich gut an! Toll, dass deine Gastfamilie so freundlich ist, und ich finde es super, dass alles klappt. Hoffentlich stoert es dich nicht, dass ich den ‘blog’ gelesen habe, ich war nur neugierig zu wissen, ob es dir gut geht. Die Deutsch 4 Klasse vermisst dich auch, und wir werden auch die neue Deutschgruppe aus Emmendingen in zwei Wochen sehen!! (Die kommen in Storrs am 15. Okt. an!) Kaum zu glauben, dass das EOS-GGE Programm schon wieder anfaengt.
Ausserdem gibt es nicht viel Neues in der Schule. Ich bin Tante geworden (mein Neffe Niko ist bald zwei Monaten alt) und ich freue mich, ein bisschen babysittin zu machen. Sonst nichts Interessantes zu berichten!
