Flat rate box o’ fun

Posted by: Lydia on: April 12, 2008

One of my most favorite things in the entire world is getting mail. And something that is even more favorite than mail is really good friends. And when you combine the two, what do you get?

A very happy Lydia!!

Jonas came up the stairs yesterday afternoon carrying a sticker-plastered box. “Kid’s Club?” was my first thought. No, actually my first thought was: “MAAAIIILLLLL! YAAAAAAAY!”, or something to that effect.

Flat rate box o\' fun

The box was from Carrie and Sami, who had combined goodies and cards to give me a Christmas+Valentines Day+Easter package!

Honestly, how do I have such amazing friends? I just read a post that Beth wrote, quoting C.S. Lewis on friendship.

“[Christ] can truly say to every group of Christian friends ‘You have not chosen one another but I have chosen you for one another.’ The Friendship is not a reward for our discrimination and good taste in finding one another out. It is the instrument by which God reveals to each the beauties of all the others.”

I love my friends. They’re gold!

Loveable ones

Also, a note about flate rate boxes.. they’re pretty cool. You pay a flat rate of $37, and then you can fill the box up as heavy as you want. That can be much cheaper than paying by the pound; especially if you’re planning on sending things like jars of peanut butter, books, yourself (if you can fit). You have to ask at the post office for one, because they usually don’t advertise them. (Trying to keep the awesomeness on the DL)

Thank you, girls!!
